CHICKASHA HIGH SCHOOL

TITLE I – SITE PLAN SUMMARY*

2019 – 2020

 

COMPONENT 1: NEEDS ASSESSMENT

Chickasha High School will conduct surveys and administer a variety of assessments.  We will analyze the data, report them to all concerned, and use results to develop action plans for continuous school improvement.

 

COMPONENT 2: SCHOOLWIDE REFORM STRATEGIES

Chickasha High School will provide opportunities for all students to meet Oklahoma’s proficient and advanced levels of academic achievement.  We will accomplish this by using effective methods and instructional strategies that are scientifically research-based.  Classroom computers and/or computer labs will be available as resources for various math and reading instructional strategies.  In addition, struggling learners will receive instructional intervention provided by the classroom teacher, Title I teachers, tutors, and/or other certified and highly-qualified staff.

 

COMPONENT 3: INSTRUCTION BY HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS

Chickasha High School will ensure that every staff member has credentials appropriate for the areas in which he or she works in accordance with federal guidelines.  We will be continuously appraised as to our abilities to meet performance expectations.

 

COMPONENT 4: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Chickasha High School will assess the needs for professional staff development and participate in training based on those needs.

 

COMPONENT 5: STRATEGIES TO ATTRACT HIGH QUALITY TEACHERS

Chickasha High School will partner with USAO to engage with prospective teachers. We will also attend job fairs at state colleges to interview prospective candidates.  The school will also support newer teachers through assigned mentors, team collaboration, and district/site coaches.

 

COMPONENT 6: STRATEGIES TO INCREASE PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Chickasha High School will work to motivate parents and families to become involved in the total education of their children.  These strategies include parent orientation, use of community tutors or volunteers, school/parent/student compacts, Family Reading Night, Summer Reading, and summer reading/math challenges.

 

COMPONENT 7: TRANSITION STRATEGIES FROM ONE GRADE LEVEL TO ANOTHER

Chickasha High School will work to smooth the transition between middle school and high school, as well as the transition between high school and college, career, and vo-tech.  A Chickasha High School Welcome will provide parents and students with information and an opportunity to visit school.

 

COMPONENT 8: TEACHER INCLUSION IN SCHOOL DECISIONS

Chickasha High School will collect and analyze data from assessments to inform instructional decisions. 

 

COMPONENT 9: EFFECTIVE AND TIMELY ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVE ACHIEVEMENT

Struggling learners will be provided skill-based interventions in reading and/or math.  Title I summer school may be offered as funding is available.

 

COMPONENT 10: COORDINATION OF FUNDS

Chickasha High School will adhere to the district’s plan for the coordination and integration of assistive programs.  In addition, we will work to facilitate effective communication among all who provide instructional interventions.
